Package interior

We break down how we package individual plants based on their needs into two categories: draught-tolerant (e.g., Paphiopedilum or lady slipper orchids), and high-humidity (mini orchids, such as Lepanthes).

Every package includes a 40hr heat pack in the Winter months per our shop policies, which I nest near the plants to keep them warm throughout the duration of the shipment.

Draught-tolerant

For draught-tolerant plants, or plants that don’t require high humidity to thrive, are typically rolled in packaging paper and taped with stuffing between the leaves so they don’t bend.

I also take some time to ensure it’s easy to get the plant out. One of my headaches as a buyer over the years has been sellers’ use of tapes and packaging materials that can’t be easily cut or pried open without damaging the plant.

In every package, you’ll find tape tabs with clearly-labeled tabs customers can pull to unravel the packaging (see below photo for an example).

High humidity plants / minis

For high humidity-dwelling plants, such as minis and rare plants, we ship them nested between two cups to retain moisture.
